The truth about GoddessMaria Martins - Ma Bhakti Shakti There is a lot of misunderstanding regarding Tantra today. This topic is subject to extensive fabrication especially under the name of neo-Tantra. The sad result is that many people uninformed of the truth about Tantra fell victims to those “teachers”, “goddesses” or “schools of Tantra” who in disguises promote lust and prostitution. The incentive is to make money on the expense of the naive. Tantra isn’t a licentious product and has nothing to do with the prostitution industry.
The concept has evolved over thousands of years. It is undoubtedly spirituality of a different kind the Western tradition understands by it under the creed of Christianity. The current set-up of teachings in many so-called “schools of Tantra” is for Tantra to join the porno industry on the assumption that anything that talks about sex is for the market to be exploited as such. Far from being part of the pleasure industry or the religious establishment, Tantra is hard to be understood by the Western mind. |

DancesAnanda Tandava - dance of bliss "I saw cascades of energy coming down from outer space, in which particles were destroyed and created in rhythmic pulses; I saw the atoms of the elements and those of my body participating in this cosmic dance of energy; I felt its rhythm and I heard its sound, and at that moment I knew that this was the Dance of Shiva, the Lord of Dancers." Fritjof Capra, Tao of Physics
According to mythology, Shiva first performed Ananda Tandava (the dance of bliss), to enlighten some sages who had been so immersed in their scholasticism that they had forgotten the existence of God. This Ananda Tandava was later revealed at the Jnana Sabha, one of the shrines of Chidambaram. Myth has it that, at a particular time every year, Shiva still performs the dance here. |
